Knife-wielding, shipping heiress Alexandra Stafford, would rather face down a crew of bloodthirsty pirates, than face off against the prim and proper English gentry. Haunted by a powerful prophecy and stalked by an obsessed killer, Alex is a woman on a mission, her only focus to protect her family and finally stop the vicious slave-trader who murdered her parents years ago…that is until the biggest obstacle of her life walks in and she must choose between exacting her revenge or reaching out to a love she never expected.
The duke of Worthington returned to England for a life of peace and quiet, never expecting that the woman of his dreams would lead him on the adventure of a lifetime. When danger escalates, Worthington must prove again and again that there is nothing he won’t do for the love of one captivating woman, and risks it all to surrender to the Siren's Song.

Siren Song Keepers of the Legacy Book 1 edition by Trish Albright Literature Fiction eBooks
I picked up the Time Keeper, the author's Christmas novella—and immediately became a fan.. Ms. Albright's books are full of adventure, strong, talented women, and her romance is perfect. Every heroine is different, every plot is uniquely intriguing. And this book, first in the series, immediately captured my attention. A beautiful young American woman, who by the way can swear very nicely in five or six languages, stands on the slavers block in Morocco. She may be defiant of her captors, and disgusted by the actions of Paxton, an Englishman slaver responsible for her tenuous predicament, but Alex Stafford, is if anything, resourceful. That's because she's a sea-captain (yippee--now here's a woman who can do it all) and partly because she was born to it, and partly because her family are all successful American merchants working the oceans.
Okay, back to the slave block. If she will only tell Paxton, an English slaver, where "The Map" is, he'll see that she's set free. However, 1) she has no intention of helping his nefarious plans, and 2) she's still sure she can get out of this herself. It doesn't look so good for Alex, but wait—there's more—a young Englishman stands at the back of the crowd, and though he knows it's insanity, he can't help getting involved, and decides to try to save her.
Yes! They fight off the guards and make a run for it. Up and over the tops of buildings and finally a mad leap to safety. And, then she must sail away. Whew! That was fun, but then it gets complicated. There's sailing, pirates, more fighting, loving, witty humor, bad guys, a wonderful mystery, aka a family secret that affects the women, and for which many have died—all wrapped up in a wonderfully entertaining book. I loved every minute of it, and I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

Siren Song Keepers of the Legacy Book 1 edition by Trish Albright Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
What a wonderfully well written, exciting book! I bought this book before it became available on and although it hurt my hands to hold a "real" book, I couldn't put it down. You can't help but become involved with the characters and this incredible story. Ms. Albright has an amazing imagination! She's obviously a skilled author, also. Very few authors can write on this level. I was impressed.
Smart-mouthed Alexandra can, at times, be her own worst enemy. Daring and handsome Worthington may have saved the day from slave-traders, but once they've escaped, Alex holds her own in this non-stop action adventure. Prophecy and intrigue will keep the reader holding their breath and turning pages, not to mention the growing attraction between Alex and Worth as they take on a relentless enemy. Oh, and they both get the surprise of their lives when it comes to falling in love...
"Siren's Song" is a page-turner that captivates the reader, filled with fun and adventure, this book
is one you will not want to put down. An American heroine who is beautiful, intelligent, courageous, charming, daring, beguiling and alluring; a British hero who is every woman's dream strong, handsome, brave, ingenious, witty, a real hunk. Travel to historic England in the late 18th century, where the excitement of life on the high seas pulls you into a setting that you won't want to leave. The talented Trish Albright is an author to watch for many future successes. Her tale of romance and adventure is a joy!
First, I have to say that I probably went into this book a bit biased. I found the cover model particularly unappealing for a romance novel. He kinda reminded me of that guy from Full House. He just plain didn't do it for me (nor did he appear to fit the description of the hero).
Also, I happen to like trashy romance novels and lots of lovin'. This book does not go beyond a few somewhat chaste kisses. That is something important to know if you are buying the book.
The characters were well written, vivid and witty. The dialogue, however was not time-period appropriate (at all). Hello! Half of them are English, the other half American (and even some Moraccan's in there) in 1787. They should not be talking like 21st century young adults. As for the action, while it's great for a movie, it doesn't translate to book form very well. In a book I expect a bit more substance, not as much running around and descriptions of oozing wounds (which really don't bother me, actually, but just seem out of place in a romance novel).
For a first novel this is a decent product, for the most part. In general, it's not really that great. It's okay. Which is what a 3 star rating is, come to think of it. ;)
So, I guess my suggestions would be more sex, more plot, less movie-style action, and a better cover model.
This book is a great ride! It's fun, fast and full of adventure! Fun characters. You'll love it!
I love this story...adventure, romance, and humor all rolled up in one!! It keeps you wanting more!! Great book!!! Thanks Trish!!
This was a delight to read. The story is fun, the improbable heroine is so well written she becomes believeable in context. This is swashbuckling at its best with some really well researched treasure. The dialogue is exceptional. This is a first novel and I'm hoping that Ms Albright is working hard on the second.
