The artist known as Renaiss has a bright literary future. I am very pleased to have a signed copy in my library.
The evocative imagery in Renaiss' poetry conveys the progression from deep emotions and life experience to internal strength and wisdom to understanding and encouragement of others. I found these poems to be very moving and inspirational, and I'm looking forward to experiencing more of her work!
Firstly I have to say you truly are a gifted and talented person. Your poems speak from the heart. At least for me, there are two particular poems which have stuck with me. The first one, Loving you not loving me. This pretty much sums up my 20+ relationship down to the letter. The second, We are not friends, sums up where I'm at right now. Forgiveness is a very long road.....I am a work in progress.
I find that many of the poems motivate my strength, a few make me blush, and others help me to mourn a previous loss and identify with a kindred soul. In any event, they strike a chord within me. I found this a worthwhile purchase that I have shared with others in my life.
The title - Excuse Me While I Spit - took some getting used at first. -) But between the covers of this amazing book is pure, concise, undiluted wisdom in poetry. Renaiss spoke to my heart from deep within and I was really touched and blessed. On my flight from LA to Sydney, I was privileged to go through this collection of poems (some twice) and I must confess that I discovered so much truth, clarity, love, commitment, strength and virtue in all the inspired words. Renaiss is for real - a true gem! Thank you for sharing this artistic work with such clarity. I am truly blessed.
Prior to purchasing “Excuse Me While I Spit” I had attended a public speaking event featuring Renaiss. She put all of herself into each and every word, captivating the entire audience. She has such an overwhelming presence, I had my doubts about getting the “full effect” of Renaiss from written pages. Alas, what a delight when I read the first poem… Renaiss came shining through! Awesome job, lady!
